Priscila, a mini biography

I (Missy) realized we've been spending a lot of posts on our building, probably because it the central focus of our lives right now and where we spend every free moment. But, I wanted to take a little time-out to share with you all a little more about the cafe co-owner, Priscila, and why she is the culunary genius that is going to make the cafe so much more than a great atmosphere. For those of you who weren't able to make it to the community forum and hear about Priscila in her own words, here's a little something about her...

Priscila has worked in the food industry from her teenage years up until a few years ago. She started her own catering business that distributed pastries to local coffee shops in Brazil specializing mainly in chocolate. Years later she started a catering business in Montreal, Canada after recording five cooking segments for a local cultural television station. In this catering business – Trésors de la Cuisine – she planned and executed menus for many different festivities such as birthday parties, wedding receptions, Christmas parties and cultural events. Priscila also has experience in a restaurant setting – Brasserie Saint-Laurent in Montreal – where she prepared pizzas in the wood oven, cooked and plated dishes in the kitchen and arranged platters for catered events. Her culinary training has involved taking many different cooking classes in Brazil on subjects such as pastries, cake decorating and chocolate. She has also taught a chocolate course in Brazil and a sushi course in Montreal. Prisicila has a natural talent for cooking and baking and starting her own coffee shop/café is an ideal next step for her that will involve her skills, talents, as well as her experience in catering.
